Our volunteers have been playing around with our name servers again and have setup the TLDs ‘.fennec’, ‘.dragon’ and ‘.avali’ as alternatives for goofing around with. If you are using our name servers directly, you should be able to visit “http:// www.avali” to see a mirror of this website or http://opennic.avali/ to see FurrIX NIC page for the project that they are working on.

Keep in mind that at this time, their TLDs are not part of the OpenNIC’s network and they are not currently accepting new registrations until they get an easier to manage frontend setup for working with zone files and others parts of their domain setup.

Our team will be working on updates over the course of the day. This includes updates for the name servers, our routers, web server and a few internal tools. We do not expect any extended down time, since most of the updates in this batch are minor patches.

Connectivity and DNS should be restored and functional again. If anything is not working as it should, reach out to our support desk and let us know.

Breakdown:
Our team was running updates on various VMs at the same time as the data center was working on their cabinets. There were a few power glitches which ruined a few router VMs and they had to be restored from local images made just before the firmware updates. Hopefully no other VMs were damaged.

There were some upstream issues that resulted in us loosing power a few times. Our team will be checking disk images and slowly getting connectivity back online, please have a bit of patience with us while we work on this.

Core and Catos routers were restored from local images and should be alive again, we are still working on Ikus to see if it was damaged or not.

Ikus and CX were also damaged, Ikus has been restored from local. CX might need to be rolled back.

IPv6 Edge router is fine and is working as should. Web, email, NMS and Minecraft all seem to be okay as well.
