Read the below first!
By requesting service with us, you are stating that you agree to our privacy policy, network management policy and terms of service. Our volunteer techs monitor the network health, status, traffic flows and read through the logs. If you break policy, you will be disconnected and removed from the project.
Quick note…
The core of Marbled Fennec Networks’ service offerings are delivered over the WireGuard protocol using routers and related virtual infrastructure provided by FurrIX. That means that project members and guest will need a system capable of establishing WireGuard connections.
IPv4 Connectivity
We do provide IPv4 access on a shared basis through the use of Network Address Translation. We currently deploy two shared routers that members and guest may request access to. Internal IP subnets are statically assigned and port forwarding is available on a first come, first serve basis. Both shared routers are limited to 350Mbps download and 175Mbps upload each shared between all users connected to their respective routers. IPv4 connectivity must be bundled with IPv6 and is not a standalone service.
IPv6 Connectivity
The main goal of our project is to provide publicly routable IPv6 addresses to our members and guest. If your request is approved, you will receive a /127 or /64 subnet from our network attached to one of our semi-public routers. It is expected that end users firewall their devices themselves and all addresses are statically assigned on our end. Members and guest can make use of up to 350Mbps on a shared basis and up to 600GB of transit per month. After 600GB, members may be subject to network de-prioritization until the following month. Fair use and all that jazz.
For /64 subnets that get approved for usage; you will receive it as a routed allocation via a /127 WireGuard interconnect. For most users, a /64 will address their LAN. For more advanced projects,
we are pretty chill about issuing /63 allocations as long as proper justification is provided.
Name Servers
For those who have low traffic websites or smaller communities, we do offer the use of our name servers for hosting your DNS records for your domain. If you are able to create BIND zones, we can can load your domain into our name servers and get you online. We are also able to work with DNSSEC enabled domains and can provide you with the records needed at the registrar. Currently there is no web portal for managing domains that we service and as such, you’ll have to use the support desk to send us your zones.
Just a little notice…
If you have read the above and have decided that you would like to request networking services from our projects, you need to be aware that we are just a group of networking and computing hobbyist that run this project for fun and to learn from. Marbled Fennec Networks and FurrIX are neither commercial companies or registered service providers. We do the things we do for fun and our own skill progression. We make no claim of our network or services being fit for any purpose, company use, transit requirements or desired use. Do not use our network for anything that could be considered mission critical or anything that cannot experience down time. You have been warned. You are requesting service from a bunch of fuzzbutts who spend their weekends drinking beer and rattling away on their keyboards after a week full of doing stagehand stuff, stocking shelves and handling customer service at our various day jobs. We are not professionals.
